We’ve spent a couple of days motoring up the ICW stopping at Morehead City on the way to buy essential food and wine.  We are experiencing some heavy cold weather, it is a shock to our system!  Long trousers and socks have surfaced and last night the heater was fired up for a short time.
We are anchored in a sheltered and remote river listening to the wind whistling in the rigging.  We expect to sail further north tomorrow although we have the Coastguard on the vhf warning that the Alligator River swing bridge is closed blocking the channel due to high winds.
