After an early 2am alarm we crept out of the very crowded anchorage at Horta and headed east between the soaring islands of Pico and Sao Jorge to Angra do Heroismo (try saying that after a couple of glasses of the local wine!) where we have tied up in a marina (yes, shock, horror!) because of the wind and swell.   Apparently it is the start of a week long festival of Espirito Santo.....expect to see bulls running down the streets etc so the local lads can show there prowess or lack of.  We are told that no bull is ever hurt or killed......mmmmm we will see.
