The anchorage at the little island of Cuttyhunk reminds us of the Scilly Isles with it’s sandy shores and green low lying coastline.

After the hectic waters off Newport Rhode Island this anchorage is calm and peaceful.  A launch named the Raw Bar called alongside last night to sell us delicious hot clam chowder and I had half a dozen of the island’s sweet little oysters as well.

There is too little wind today to make a decent passage but a decent breeze is forecast for tomorrow, so we’ll stay another night, take a walk along the island’s rambling footpaths and maybe wait for the Raw Bar to call again/
