We are now anchored in the tiny harbour at Oriental, North Carolina.  We arrived at lunchtime just in time for nap to get us over two nights of watches at sea.

 

Oriental is some way inland from the Atlantic Coast at Hatteras but there is plenty of open stretches of water that are safe to safe whatever the weather conditions. It’s time to launch the dinghy to explore this little town, buy some milk and bread and perhaps stopping at one of the many seafood restaurants that abound on this coast.
