We’ve had an exhilarating 24 hours in strong and gusty winds.  Despite a fully reefed mainsail and genoa, Moonstone was making over 7 knots all day but rolling unpleasantly in a big sea.......we are both a bit battered and bruised tonight and struggling to get a good off watch sleep in these uncomfortable conditions but happy that we had such a speedy 24 hours.
Lots of fishing boats today as we sail through an area called Great Sole Bank and will be on the Haddock Bank later.  We are also encountering a lot of ships heading in and out of the English Channel.
Landfall timing still looks good for tomorrow night although entering the Scilly Isles in the dark will be stressful.......at least there’s a good moon.
