The front started to pass through late morning so after trolling about in the dinghy checking the depths we reset the anchor ready for a blow from the north east.......at low water we’ve only 4” under the keel and we haven’t much room to drift.  The wind has started to whistle through and I think stronger winds will be with us after nightfall.  We are well sheltered by the cay but the soft sandy seabed isn’t good holding for the anchor......we’ve set an anchor watch alarm.

The normally superb Bahamas Telephone Company’s mobile phone disappeared last night and hasn’t returned yet so we haven’t access to the comprehensive weather forecasts that we normally like to arm ourselves with before setting out on a long passage.  Later this afternoon we will download Chris Parkers forecast and grib files using the satphone but I think it will be prudent to spend another night here anyway and get moving hopefully in the morning.
