A gentle start to the passage

The first 24 hours of any long passage are always stressful. This one has started very gently and we have been sailing in less than 12 knots of wind on a calm sea......so quite that we stayed under full sail including the mizzen staysail all night.
There are a couple ships’ AIS signals dotted around our chart plotter screen but none coming close enough to give us concerns.
We were followed in the night by a couple of Cory’s Shearwaters nattering away.......such an eerie sound in the middle of an ocean.
