Gloucester
We left the mooring at Waterboat Marina after breakfast and headut out to sea northbound for Gloucester (30Nm).
Gloucester is a famous fishing village in north Massachussets and the village where fishing boat Andrea Gail came from (more about that in next post).
Having winds from south west it was a pleasant ride and once in Gloucester harbour we dropped anchor in the west basin best protected from current wind direction.
Towing the dinghy all way from Boston we took a dinghy ride into town (15mins ride) and tied up at the public town dock just below harbour masters office. This small town is lovely and still an active fishing village. We couldn´t resist walking to the Crow´s Nest which is the pub that became famous in Wolfgang Pedersens film "The Perfect Storm" from early 2000 and the pub that the real crew of fishinboat Andrea Gail used to visit..
The next day I needed to dive on Dora Mac to check anodes of the bowthruster, rinse barnacles and check propeller shaft and blades. I don´t like diving in murky waters and I admit the fact about frequent white sharks around Cape Cod struck my mind.
