Spending some days conserving Dora Mac for winter it was time to depart for northern Latitudes, cold, darkness and work.
We flew out of Malta early morning and already climbing through the cloudcover Etna was well visible as a reminder of how close Sicily is to Malta.
Halfway to Copenhagen we passed snowcovered Alps which is probably also how it looks in Lofoten where we are heading for a month of work.
The future (as always) for Dora Mac is unknown. I will have to be back for haul out and change of cutlass bearings in January. In the meantime she is well under surveillance from Christian O`Sensiuc who is an experienced mariner and well qualified to drive Dora Mac should it be necessary to move her.
Preliminary we will continue west out of the Mediterranean and one option discussed is to cross the Atlantic at the end of cyclone season in the Caribbean (November) meaning we head for the Canaries once out of the Mediterranean.
