With beautiful weather forecasted for two days in the Lyngen area I needed to use my time.
Subsequently I contacted the locals for advise on what mountains to aim for considering risks of avalances, being reachabable by bicycle and not with extreme complexity level.
The choice fell upon Rörnästind day 1 (1041mtrs above sealevel) and Goalsevarri day 2 (1289mtrs above sealevel). They both have complexity level 2 out of 3 and as seen on first picture the climb up to Goalsevarri doesn´t look to bad. On the other hand climbing and skiing Lakselvtinden on the next picture with complexity level 3 requires ice ax and crampons. Thats way above my level.
As expected the crew of the two French boats had overwintered in arctic Norway and where here when the pandemic broke loose borders closing.
They are keen randoskiers with experience from the birthplace of randoskiing(Chamonix in the French alps) but considering the skiing in Lyngen as good as Chamonix they prefer Lyngen due to one more dimension-skiing in front of the sea.
