Bringing a new low pressure pump to our watermaker the pump came with 4 wires. The wires were twinned in pairs from the factory (or seller in the US ?). The worn out low pressure pump received it’s power from the 3 wire cable on the picture. There was nothing in the manual from March pumps on how to connect it all and taking a chance I asked an AI bot. The bot asked me for the serial number of the March pump and then came up with a very confident answer on how to connect it all (see pic).

With much at stake (cruising through Turks&Caicos Caicos as well as Bahamas the majority of time is spent on anchor making a watermaker essential) not wanting to destroy any electrics I contacted March customer support and got a complete different instruction for how to connect. Following the confident AI advise could have ruined the pump.

At the same time we use AI bots daily. They really shorten time searching on the internet and often come up with good advise.

AI is of course super hype today and the main reason for still having happy stock markets. Everything is becoming “smart” and right now we are in the “honeymoon” of AI and AI bots. With the time (when we are all “hooked” ) prices will increase and living without AI becoming more and more difficult. Regulations and political influence are scarce (since we are in a competition )and my fear is that we just opened the gates to hell.

In the meantime,be careful with advise on how to do boat work.
