Alice Town and work
We came into Browns Marina at high tide and slack water. Still we had a current of 0,5-1knot running through the marina. On our way into Alice Town we followed an established track and the suggested official entrance. Still we got stuck on a sandbank. With full throttle and some ocean swell we managed to get off the bank ourselves and later learned to know the bank had moved significantly during last hurricane but with no measures from responsible authorities. Around 20 boats have been stuck on the bank this season most of them needing help to get off (costly).
Once tied up in the marina we collected our SeaTalk cable and started the work of replacing the cable hoping that would be the cause of navigation system failure.
It took a couple of hours to have it all sorted out and to our joy it was now all up working.
Max Marine who sold us the used E-120 display and provided a new SeaTalk cable have been very good. Their service is of a rare sort nowadays with humans immediately answering when you contact them and with all knowledge you need. My experience is that the bigger company you deal with the less likely you are to sort out problems with purchased equipment. Often all support you get is a chat bot not being able to solve your problem. Profit is the reason why. A robot is much cheaper than a human.
