Coming back to Trapani and Dora Mac all was in order allthough the whole boat was covered in sandy dust.
Maurizio from Mooring Trapani told us they had a real bad Scirocco (strong southerly winds from the Sahara) the week before with winds gusting up to 72kts which is hurricane force.
Being such a good marina as they are they managed to save the bimini of Dora Mac´s flybridge and no further issues with the boat.
The sandy dust, called Calima, is a nuisance since it penetrates everywhere  and it will take a couple of days to clean it all out.
Calima is best known in the Canary Islands with strong winds from Sahara, but also occurs over the southern Mediterranean and most exposed are the islands of Crete,Malta , and Sicily.
We will need to stay a couple of days waiting out better weather before heading to the island of Ustica.
With Calima all over the boat we at least know what to do the coming days.
