April 12 at 05.38 (GMT-4) Mercedes saw Antigua in the horizon. Coming into Falmouth Bay we were made aware of the Iala B system in this part of the world which means red on starboard and green on port side when entering port (opposite to Europe)
Slightly before lunch, after 14 days and 20 hours at sea,we made landfall at Catamaran Marina in the north of the bay. Already in the afternoon we were cleared in by customs/immigration and in the evening we were at Sherley Heights on a jump up with steelband music.
The view overlooking Nelsons Dockyard (where Lord Nelson was head of the Caribbean Naval Squadron 1790),was breathtaking and after a rum punsch with all people around dancing to steelband music, the feeling was unreal.
