Bellone
Wed 7 Jun 2023 10:41
It was a beautiful morning, although overnight it was a bit bumpy. I woke at 5.30 am and the wind had died down, so up went the mainsail and we have been doing a steady 5k for the last six hours under an almost cloudless sky. I must admit that Bellone is sailing well. The new main looks and performs great, and the second-hand #2 genoa has set sweetly at the front end.
Tomorrow promises to be a bit windy again and on Friday I'm hoping to make a left turn and be able to head to either Cork or as is more likely, Dingle.
The two fulmars are still following so I'm taking that as a good omen. Mind you, if they weren't following I would still take that as a good omen as they would have flown back home, out to sea.
Last night I made quite a passable rice dish, with turmeric, garlic salt, sweet corn and tuna. It was okay.
Time to batten down the hatches ready fro the next blow!
