We had a very good night and at 5 am we took the reefs
out of the main. Since then, the wind has gradually died down and so we have an
excuse to put the engine on, as the batteries need charging. We are pointing
towards Mindelo on the island called Sao Vincente (Cape Verdes). We have been
there before on Sea Spray, and that was connected with water problems as
well.
We saw one of the Golden Globe race boats on Playa
Blanca, which had retired. Her name was Coconut and I think her skipper is
Australian. She looked quite ordinary, apart from how small she looked for the
challenge she had started to undertake.
