We are about to leave Lanzarote and head for Cape Town,
which we are hoping to complete in 35 days. We have had the mainsail repaired
here and we are hoping that it will last the trip, as a quote for a new one is
about £5 000, which we would pick up at New Zealand.
The important thing on this leg is not to get stuck in
the doldrums, and the wind is usually to be found on the western side (South
America) so the trade off is wind v distance.
So it's the last proper shower now for a month
before we head off  |
