It's feast or famine out here with the wind. Yesterday evening it started to freshen and by 21.00 hrs it was up to thirty knots, gusting thirty three. I had to reef the mainsail (down to the second reef) and then I brought it all the way down eventually. Force seven is 28 to 33 knots and a gale is 34 to 40, so we had more than enough wind. I stayed up all night just so that I could monitor the weather.
Now though, we are back to famine with a mere ten knots blowing but the seas are still lumpy from last night. However we did a day's run of 155 miles which is by far the best yet.
As the conditions were a bit bouncy last night, rather than cook I did my own take on a tuna mayo sandwich. I had tuna salad-cream. It was delicious especially with the last of the onions from St Lucia.
I have a couple of jobs to do after last night and then it's bedtime I think.
