We have been stationary for 18 hours now and surrounded by sea mist since this morning. To make matters worse, a swarm of midges has descended on the boat. It is hellish here at the moment. They are everywhere and there is no escape from them.
The water gauges are on red now so we need to get a wiggle on and finish this trip. Unfortunately, the weather forecast can't offer us much hope in the next 24 to 36 hours.
There are only 139 miles to go and I think we have enough fuel to do 100 of those, but it's the first 39 miles I need to complete under sail before I can turn on the 'iron jib'.
