Monday 2^nd August – Messolonghi (Tourlida)

This morning it was time to fix Richard’s bike.  Fortunately it was just a case of fixing a puncture rather than a new inner tube.  Afterwards we thought we would go down to the beach, as if we were on holiday.  We loaded up the bikes with a large umbrella to provide shade, beach mats to sit on, towels and books. 

We headed down to Tourlida but then took the side road across the salt flats back to the coast road we found yesterday, looking for a nice spot away from it all.  Again the side road was an unmade road and hard work, so we decided to cut it short for another day.  Instead we cut back to the beach at Tourlida where we spent most of the day - swimming, reading and sunbathing. 

We returned to Pyxis late afternoon, heading straight to the showers to cool off.
