Monday 24th – Ermioni (Hermioni) – Koiládhia (Koilas)

We left mid morning and set off in light wind on the motor through the narrow Dhokós Strait.  As we crossed the bay towards Spétsai, one large motor boat after another left the quay there and came charging past at full pelt, sending their large wakes out behind them, presumably heading back to Athens after the weekend.

When we arrived at Porto Kheli, we went into the bay to check out the anchorage as it is reputed to be an excellent anchorage with good holding and good all round shelter.  Whilst the main anchorage was quite full, there was a sizable area slightly further away from town that we could have anchored in but we decided, as it was still early afternoon, to carry on further up the coast, especially as the wind was by now building and offering the chance to sail.

We exited the bay and out came the genoa and we gently sailed the rest of the way here to Koiládhia, a smaller and very pretty anchorage, also with good holding and good all round shelter.  When we arrived it was quite breezy in the bay but now the wind has dropped completely and all is peaceful.

This evening we have had dinner on board with a great view.
