Trizónia - Itéa

Monday 3rd May – Trizónia - Itéa 38:25.793N 22:25.315E
The wind continued to howl overnight but had eased a little by morning. It was time to move on and we had decided to carry on down to Itéa.
As we cleared Trizónia the wind filled in and we had breakfast on the way, running on just the genoa in a pleasant F4 from astern. As ever the wind proved it was all or nothing as we went along the coast; one minute we were barely making way as it eased and the next minute it was the top of a F5 and we were flying along. Eventually we lost the wind altogether as we approached the final headland and had to motor the remaining distance. The batteries enjoyed this and were able to re-charge after two nights in Trizónia and we both enjoyed a hot shower en route, courtesy of the hot water generated by the engine.
As we came into the marina, we were surprised to see two of the couples from last night already berthed alongside as they had originally intended to go Galaxidhi just down the coast. Nevertheless it was lovely to see them and they caught our lines for us. The marina is another ‘unadopted’ marina; started but never finished.
We had lunch and relaxed in the cockpit with a book before going for a walk into town late afternoon for a look around and to pick up a few supplies. This evening we have eaten aboard. The harbour wall we are alongside is popular with locals taking an evening promenade, it offers a great view across the bay, and the town is busy with people.
