Cagliari

Thursday 26th February – Cagliari 39:12.064N 9:07.510E
Today was Richard’s birthday; once we were up, Richard opened his cards and presents, including a surprise parcel from our friends Peter and Carola on Moonshadow.
We were pleased to find the sun was out and it was warm enough to breakfast in the cockpit, watching the world go by and, in particular, David bravely scaling the mast of Cape, albeit ably assisted by Sarah and Les, manning the winch at the foot of the mast.
Later Sarah, Bethany, Bryn and David came over to Pyxis with a birthday cake and a watercolour that Sarah had painted for Richard and so it was cappuccinos all round with a slice of delicious cake.
This afternoon Sarah and I went to art class and I finished my second picture and started on my next which looks at the moment like it will be an amorphous blob; hopefully I will be able to rescue it at the next class.
We made quite an afternoon of it with a few beers to help our creativity; half way through the afternoon the men joined us – for the beer anyway.
This evening I cooked dinner on Pyxis and we had a quiet night aboard as we need to be up early tomorrow, clear headed.
