Tuesday 17^th March – Cagliari  (Bethany’s birthday)

It was Bethany’s birthday today.  I had painted her a birthday card with balloons on and then we found we were out of balloons.  So we were up early and off to town to get some. 

In the centre of town we found an art exhibition and, as we are still enthusiastic from our own exhibition, wandered in to take a look around.  There were some great watercolours for which I now have a much greater appreciation and I could really understand how much work had gone into the very large works of art on display.

When we returned to the marina we had fun on board blowing up a few balloons to wrap up Bethany’s present (including several loud bangs when we got it wrong and the balloons burst).  We were finally able to take the present round and pleased to say she liked it.

This evening Cape took Bethany out for a birthday dinner; she looked very grown-up.
