Khania, Crete

Tuesday 22nd June – Khania, Crete 35:31.123N 24:01.153E
The wind howled all day and we all bounced around on our mooring lines – I didn’t even get ashore; Richard and some of the other skippers ventured ashore and around the harbour to look at the sea outside the harbour wall – ‘rough’ was the report. Needless to say there was no boat turnover; no-one leaving and no-one arriving. The sun tried to keep shining but cloud kept rolling through; I sat in the cockpit and read a book.
This afternoon I was on washing up duty and I am really pleased with the ‘cobble stone’ that we used in the Cobb BBQ for a second reason – it is much easier to clean afterwards; you get no sooty residue from the charcoal, very clean.
This evening it was a little quieter but the forecast is not good for the next few days – I am sorry for anyone who has just arrived for a week’s holiday in Crete.
