Estapona

Sunday 18th May – Estapona 36:24.890N 5:09.441W
It has been very windy during the day with a westerly gale blowing through Alboran, even in the shelter of the marina we have had up to 30kts of wind – despite the forecast suggesting a much lower figure here.
Today there was a busy Sunday market right at the end of the pontoon, just outside the security gate. I wandered around it this morning and it was rather up-market compared to some of the ones I have seen; some rather nice African looking ornaments on show as well as clothing, shoes and linen.
Late this afternoon we took a meander down the beach and came back through the town. The town was very quiet after the festivities of the last few days. We wandered past the bull ring as people were buying tickets and going in for the show this evening. The bull ring here is fairly modern and unusual in being asymmetric in shape. We took a quick look inside and decided that the bullring itself is still round!
This evening Richard had a really good idea – he would cook. Since I had made enough last night for my supper tonight, I think he got off lightly as it required only reheating with some calamari thrown in to make it more interesting (you’d almost think that he knew that wouldn’t you).
