Cagliari (In the chair)

Tuesday 25th November – Cagliari (In the chair) 39:12.064N 9:07.510E
The alarm woke us this morning and I headed out for my appointment with fear.
Before we started the dentist soon understood she had a nervous patient on her hands so was liberal with the anaesthetic.
I think she was not looking forward to the job either for, having started drilling, she announced with a relieved _expression_ that, whilst the tooth was in a bad way, the nerve was undamaged and that the tooth may be saved with ‘substantial restoration’ rather than the original root canal treatment. We decided it was worth a try.
After an hour in the chair, we were both exhausted and I have an appointment for Friday to finalise the fit and give the tooth a polish. Thus this evening, the anaesthetic has worn off and it feels like I have a marble at the back of my mouth, and I have instructions to stick to soft foods and avoid any strongly coloured foods for the rest of the day (so as not to stain the new white filling).
Consequently I am feeling sorry for myself tonight – so I am having a gin and tonic rather than red wine J
