Tuesday 1st June – Monemvasía

It was very windy overnight with the wind waking us up at around 2am.  Having checked the lines, eventually we managed to get back to sleep and slept through to breakfast time.  It has blown on and off throughout the day, sometimes hard, sometimes light, sometimes blowing us on, sometimes blowing us off.

I have managed to catch up with some book and Skype the P’s as we have a reasonable signal for internet access here.

Richard has been tackling some maintenance jobs on board, checking the engine, cleaning the filter on the shower pump, etc.  The good news is that he has managed to get the generator working, having stripped the carburettor down.  This afternoon we have run the generator and given the batteries a much needed top up.

This afternoon Charlie and Anna on Star Dance have arrived.  We haven’t seen them since we left Messolonghi as they went south down the Peloponnese and we went east through the Corinth Canal.  They are currently moored in the anchorage; this evening they came over by dinghy to say ‘hello’ and have a drink with us and share stories on our travels since we last were together.  They will be staying here for a couple of days and so we will catch up with them again later.
