This afternoon we had a very pleasant surprise; Nebula, a yacht we had first met in Baiona, and now on their way back to the UK, have turned up to see us, having read our blog and seen where we are.
We are so pleased that they made the trip up river and we were delighted to be able to spend a few hours catching up with their adventures (they already knew what we had been up to as they had been keeping up with our blog). They had visited this river on their way past last October.
I spent a very happy evening with their son Nick, as we discovered a joint passion for fishing and we traded tips on catching the local fish – I now look forward to trying out my new-found knowledge off Gibraltar. I also hope that he can catch some of these blighters that have evaded capture on this river.
Our neighbours stopped by to see why their usually quiet neighbours were suddenly making so much noise and so they joined us aboard.
As darkness descended, our friends from Nebula decamped to their yacht as their daughter had dinner on the table. We had a drink with John and Nora and then they headed for home as we both hope to set off early tomorrow morning for Vila Real de Santo António.
