Vilamoura - Ilha da Culatra

Wednesday 27th February – Vilamoura - Ilha da Culatra 36:59.923N 7:50.618W
After nearly two weeks sitting out the weather back in Vilamoura, this evening we are back on anchor at Ilha da Culatra – virtually on the same spot as before.
We had a late start after the night before, enjoying some coffee and cake with Moonshadow before we left.
We motor sailed along the coast in light winds and brilliant sunshine. As I write this blog entry, the wind is blowing gently at 6-7 knots – somewhat different to the constant 20-30 knots we experienced here last time (Richard: as the force exerted is proportional to the square of the windspeed this is quite a difference for us!). We hope it stays quiet over night.
I have managed to get some fishing in this evening after we had anchored up and showered – I got a bite but sadly no fish. Richard wasn’t sure that me wearing a fleece over my pyjamas was necessarily standard dress for fishing.
This evening we are having an early night before trying to push on further tomorrow.
