Thursday 17^th July – Punta de l’ Avançada, Mallorca

A cloudy day and a day for staying on board in the cockpit enclosure – I feel sorry the holiday makers who chose this week to come to Mallorca as it’s been a bit of a dull week for them weatherwise. 

This afternoon we had a thunderstorm roll over the mountains – luckily we only got the rain and not the lightning we could see on the hills (lightning is not funny on a yacht with a 15m metal mast) L

This evening it has cleared and the air feels a lot fresher.  There are still some grey clouds over the mountains but it is making it a beautiful evening and sunset.

We have checked the satellite pictures of the weather and we can see the band of bad weather that has just gone over and it looks clear behind it so we hope for a good end to the week.
