Punta de l' Avançada, Mallorca
Friday 11th July – Punta de l’ Avançada, Mallorca 39:54.193N 3:06.243E
Last night we went ashore with Moonshadow and, after the obligatory visit to the chandlery (Richard now has some new flippers J), had paella at a restaurant overlooking the beach.
We perhaps should have stopped at that point. But no, we carried on to an Irish bar advertising an Elvis night and ended up making suitable fools of ourselves dancing around and singing all the old favourites – we even ended up dancing on the stage, oops. We also met a lovely English couple out here on holiday who then joined us for the evening.
When Elvis had ‘left the building’ in the early hours, the six of us made a brief foray into a nearby nightclub before we realised that the sign on the door saying you MUST be over 18 to enter actually meant you MUSTN’T be over 18 to enter.
Feeling a little old for the club scene, we all then settled on ‘one’ drink at another Irish pub, that unfortunately was open until 4am. Enough to say it ended badly with tequila shots just before they closed…
Fortunately the bay was quiet for the return trip and we arrived back safely at the boat at around 5am and headed straight for bed.
Given last night’s (ok, this morning’s) festivities and with us all feeling somewhat delicate we decided that a quiet day was in order – so today we have given Pyxis a well deserved clean down below whilst nursing our hangovers.
