Gibraltar (Shopping)

Today we had a semi-quiet day as we were really shattered after the last 2 days’ activity.
The wind has changed direction today and sure enough there was cloud swirling over the Rock. Early afternoon a bank of fog came in quickly from the East, blotting out the view to La Linea and Spain, and then the Bay. Fortunately the skies then cleared and we had a great sunset again this evening.
At lunchtime Richard went in search of a ladder to enable us to get on and off Pyxis without having to do acrobatic manoeuvres – unfortunately the nearest store didn’t have any so another expedition will be needed.
However, it was time this afternoon to check-out the large English supermarket, Morrisons. I spent a fortune on things that I haven’t been able to find on my travels; it’s the comfort food like peanut butter, baked beans and Cadburys Fruit and Nut that you miss and the essentials like Strong Flour for making bread – a big stock up required there as I haven’t found the Spanish equivalent yet. Another example is cleaning materials, where I am not yet confident in the translations and have been able to stock up.
Looking forward to a trip to M&S as well, for clothing reasons you can probably guess at. I’ll leave it there…
This evening Moonshadow have lent us their gang-plank to try so we are able to get on and off Pyxis more easily.
