Lagos (Early Christmas)

Wednesday 21st November – Lagos 37:06.657N 8:40.543W
This morning we awoke to a beautiful blue sky – it wasn’t to last. By mid morning the rain had arrived again but light showers rather than the heavy thunderstorms we’ve had previously. It cancelled my laundry day.
The exciting news today is that Richard and I bought our Christmas presents for each other; we are each the proud owner of a new bike – very good price at the local supermarket. Richard pumped up the tyres, adjusted the seats and off we went for a test drive down to the beach – we were like kids with a new toy. We’re having a bit of fun with the new technology of gear changing – it’s not like it was in the old days with a lever on the frame – there’s now a twisty thing on each handle, and 18 gears!
This afternoon we ran the engine on Pyxis so that Richard could test the replacement alternator regulator. It seems to be working OK at the moment (touch wood!) – we hope this one will not try to fry our batteries.
