We have sailed152  NM  the last 24 hours - 1132 to go.Fair winds on the port quarter from 13.00 yesterday, so the gennaker gave us 7-8,5 knots, till we dropped it at 17.30, permitting calmer conditions in the cockpit for yesterday's culinaric triumph :  roasted french duck. The Chef is still excellent. The wind increased during the night, peaking 26 knots which gave a speed record of 9,4  knots so far on this leg. Exhilarating sailing, once I managed to ease the sheets and reef down.( "hilarious" the other day was, of course, a slip of the pen). After logging 7-8,5 knots must of the night we are now down to 6 knots, but making steady progress on correct course. The crew is getting on well, sleeping between watches and performing well, so Captain Bligh's 9-tailed cat is still resting.
