Så har nok en gang hatt en overfart av det verste slaget. Startet fra Lanzarote lørdag formiddag og skulle liksom bare prøve…. Værmeldingen meldte ikke styggevær, men det blåste friskt fra nord. Vinden skulle dreie mot øst, slik at vi kunne få en rimelig god seilas til Madeira, 280 NM.

Men disse værmedingene!! For det første har vi det med å ikke snu når vi først har lagt ut. “Det blir nok bedre- og vinden skulle jo snu…”

Vel, denne overfarten skal i glemmeboka, jo før jo heller. Og planene om å seile til Azorene har admiral og fokkeslask Marit nedlagt forbud mot. Så da blir vi vel her og går i fjellene, da,  et par måneder, sier Kapteinen…..

Uansett var det godt å komme til Madeira, Quinta de Lorde Marina, som vi har besøkt flere ganger og hvor vi er godt kjent. Det var litt å vaske etter 46 timer med Hebe som “undervannsbåt”. Det tok faktisk nesten 3 timer før vi fikk tatt ankerdrammen. Det er nesten utilgivelig.

Once again we had a crossing of the worst case! We started from Lanzarote Saturday morning and the plan was “just try to see how it is…..” The weather forecast was ok. Not too good, but not bad. The wind from north was rather strong, but was supposed to go easterly. Then we thought we would have a reasonable sailing to Madeira, 280 NM away.

Well, weather it was the forecast or it was us; things did not happen like we thought. We should have turned, but did not. The wind was strong, stronger and strongest and never got easterly. So this crossing it the one never to be mention, that’s for sure. And the plans about the Azores…….?? Admiral and mate Marit has forbidden it. So now the Captain guess we will go hiking in the mountains here in Madeira for a couple of month…..

Anyway, it was really good to come back to Madeira, where we’ve been many times and where we know the people and the place. We had a bit of a cleaning, after 46 hours, with Hebe more or less under the water. And it took nearly 3 hours before we could have the anchor dram. Unforgiveable!!
