Hi Folks,

Hope all is well up top in the northern hem, looking at the test match games it seems that you guys are getting a decent summer at last.
We have been away for a winter break, to Rota Vegas, its not really like its American counterpart, just the lights on an otherwise very pleasant place, we had a lake house for a week, even though the rain fell for a day it was all go, we arrived Sunday after visiting Devyns auntie and settled in very quickly to a coupe of bottles of red, Monday after a bacon buttie start Jack and I went on an adrenaline fuelled blitz which included being blasted up in the air by a giant wind tunnel machine, throwing ones self off a 50m tower attached only by a rubber band and dare I say it finished off with a Big Mac , the last one nearly killed us .. Tuesday we proceeded to hurl ourselves down a 45 deg concrete path that is " Concrete Luging" you strap yourself to a piece of fibre glass with three wheels and a brake and off you go, we enjoyed it so much we went six times, is an NZ version of that great Alpine sport of the Luge but a lot more fun as if you cock up it costs you a layer of skin, or what ever material you are wearing if you get it wrong, a complete no no for the wussy H&S freaks but to the good old kiwi its all in a days fun ! ripping the arse out of your grunnys ...
By Wednesday I had been experiencing a slight pain in the back of my wisdom tooth, I though I would see if I could get to a dentist before the end of the hols, rang and Hay presto I was booked in , half an hour after the call, great dentist he leaves the door open so all in the surgery can hear what happens in the chair, I only got to hear one patent before it was my turn, I signed on the form to say consult before action, but before I new it my mouth was numb and my wisdom tooth was out..... Gail and Lyn found it quite funny and said its the quietest I have been in months !!!
By Thursday I was back to action stations and Jack and I went on 4 x 4 All Terrain Vehicle ride into the back and beyond of the N Z outback, great fun and a great way to see this sort of country side as apart from a horse it the only way to get out here.
Off after that to the Craters of the moon, felt just like Buzz Aldrin it is a valley in the geo-thermal area and is covered in craters with HS gas seeping out from every where, its an eerie place but an interesting walk .
After all that fun we packed up and set off home the next day, the direct route to Wellington was closed due to snow, so we had to go via Napier, which was also snow bound , the rest of the journey was uneventful and we arrived back in Wellington to a sunny afternoon with no wind .
