"Relief from Irrigation"

Date 31st March 2008

Hi Folks,

Yesterday we escaped the Colonic area and came back up to Portobello , it was to windward but anywhere would be better that  dirt , grime and crime , we don't have to be back down in that area until we transit the canal , we have some formalities to complete so will go back to the area in about eight days time .
I was a real scorcher yesterday , hardly any wind by the time we got to Portobello , anchored under the old fort again , and put the Mk II sun large sun shade up , it was an easier task on the jetty at Le Marin , but I wouldn't swap the surroundings , the howler monkeys do there thing at first light  , and also at dusk , the local chickens however don't , I think there clocks are completely out as they seem to crow at odd times , a good case of a large sock over the head I think.
Today we will attempt to fix the auto pilot which threw a wobbler yesterday so we lost all our GPS , Navionics ect , which was a good thing as the old pilotage and Nav skills were bought back into play , plus a three hr  dose of hand steering !
We have yet to explore Portobello , that we are doing later today and will be reporting in tmrw on the village ect .
Lyn is still down with "Colon" tummy , she braved the deck yesterday and conned us into Portobello , iron will doesn't keeper her down , but the sun shade was too much , she had a shower and disappeared off to bed, hopefully the tummy cramps will stop in the next few days ,we are keeping her topped up with fluids , Dr Ruth is on the case !

All at Portobello

Piece at last ...
