Hi all , Ships skip No2 reporting in,
"A view from the Veg locker"
We are surfing along at 10knts with a following sea
of six to ten ft , what a blast ran through a whoop of ARC boats in the
night , Struck up the colours , we had the wind gauge, rolled out the guns
and gave them a broadside, sank all of them in two watches five in number ,
Nelson would have been proud of me , well that was my fantasising during my
watch as we went through the pack like a Jedi light sabre , when I
discussed this with the crew in the morning they confined me to the veg locker
again were I met a very interesting half of red cabbage , he wasn't happy either
as he was on the menu for lunch.
Good news on the washing front , the combined
efforts of "Washboards" and "Topsails" the engineering dept got the
watermaker running , we bypass the electronic bit ( water purity sensor) and now
have flowing water into our tanks , the crew who have been mumbling about
rationing and having to use one baby whipe between all four of them , bit
off for the girls but as I reminded them we were saving the planet ! , that's
another reason why I'm in the veg locker.
We are drying out most of our gear after two days
of squalls up the rear , wet wet wet was the theme of most of our night watches
with wind shifts of 30 deg which plays havoc with the down wind rig , alert
helmsman was the order of the day .
The official Mother apron was crafted by Lyn
a few days ago , I trialed it and was caught posinging in the galley Roger
"Washboards" has photo evidence and has hidden the camera so looks like bribery
and corruption will be used to extract them before they get posted on the blog
!
Mother of the day "Comms officer ,Celestial
events manager, and RYA (OM) bar and scar , has had a torrid time as mother
today ,spilling the tea into the bilge's to join Washboards coffee , but he
rallied to the call and produced nuvo quesine for lunch, all Mothers over the
last few days have done well to counteract the pitching and rolling , I think by
the end of this a Yoga class would be a piece of cake as we can out gyrate the
Elvis any day.
As luck would have it my satphone calls and night
to various long term friends with much bribery has averted any em about my
sanity which is a great relief .
That's all from the Veg locker for now, hope to be
out by this evening .
