Yellow All ,
2nd skipper and Topsails Man (Chris) on blog
duty today , the abuse rate has not stopped since my last blog so its payback
time ,
First of all we have had to promote Di to
Deck landings officer/ flying fish coroner , it has been noted that on
night watch there have been illegal landings of
flying fish without the aid of navigation lights ,
they come to grief mainly on the fwd flight deck and never take off again so
once daylight appears Di has to
check the body count for the day and carry out
burial at sea duties.
For duties beyond the call we have unanimously
voted to promote Margaret our shore base ARC spotter , to be Phychiatric
Evaluations Officer of the offshore team,
Margaret your comments will be appreciated and if
necessary I can use the straight jacket carried on board .
On the spooky side of things the night
watches have been awoken from there slumbers by the gostly appearance of the
Midnight Sail inspector, white faced, clad
in a white dressing gown with hair looking as if
she has been hanging onto a vandergraph generator for half an hour, or too much
hair gel applied in rough seas ,the apparition appears in the cock pit door then
lifts the deck torch and scans the foursails, turns and floats back down the
companion way steps , we suspect it to be "Fluffy" sleepwalking as she
often says on the watch change that she's been dreaming of sails !
The Comms officer and male doyen of the
galley(Greame) is keeping the boyz end up with his culinary skills so its
just me and "Washboards" Roger that need a gentle prod with the Tazer stick in
the right direction by Cpt Fluffy on our mother days .
Good news on the progress across the pond we
have caught the tail enders of the ARC , I called all the crew to action
stations on sighting ran up the colours and prepared to run out the guns , it
was then that I was restrained by them and put in the veg locker to discuss my
actions with a few potatoes and peppers , I was let out later only when I
promised not to get excited when we passed Arc boats .
Last night we celebrated our seventh day at
sea and 1200 nm under our belt with sausage and kidney bean (Pot mess) and some
fresh bread washed down with a bottle of two euro Cava ,
then the Comms officer took us lion hunting in the cockpit what an
adventure that was !
2nd Cpt and Totsails man.
