Hi All in blog land,
Well still in our thermals as we speak , near the
equator ! wind still hard on the nose we managed to sail for 100nm but are now
pushing south again under engine to close the gap to 0 deg , the wind shifts are
as much as 40 deg , plus it gives us time to make water and charge the batteries
.
We nearly caught a fish this morning , Rob
got it to the rail and it got off as he was trying to pull it inboard
.
Yesterday things were a bit topsi turvey with
the boat bashing to windward Cpt Fluffy was off colour , so The Veg man was in
the galley again , noodles for lunch followed by pot mess for tea , thank
goodness for lots of tins to chose from , we had chilli concarn mix with beans ,
chopped Italian sausage and topped it off with a tin of tomatoes .... ummmmm
..
Back on the sailing front the wind shifted
and we got going again the motion of the boat was good close hauled for 100 nm
or so , we used the cutter rig for the first time to great effect , there is
also strange current effects in this area and given a boost every now and again
we are achieving 7 to 8 knits to windward ....
Contacted "Rhythm yesterday evening but the
reception was so bad , with low thundery cloud , and the occasional lightning
flashes through out the night , they depart Galapagos on Friday for the
Marquises, we should catch them there .
That's all today folks , longing for a spell of sun
..
