Isle Contradore Las Perlas Isles
2/05/08
Hi All,
We moved around from Guano island yesterday to the
South side of Isle Contradore , this is the most inhabited island of the group ,
lots of private dwellings of large proportions , its were the rich of Panama
have there holiday homes , its been cloudy for the last few days with
magnificent lightning storms at night viewed from here on the mainland , they
seem to go on for hrs , at sun rise they dissipate and we then get grey cloud
cover.
We commenced scrubbing Zephyrs bum , bottom
yesterday the last time was at Portobello a month age , it seems like time has
flown in Panama despite being trapped on the other side , for the last few weeks
the time has flown very quickly as the repairs have been our main priority and
the facilities for this to be achieved on the Panama city were second to none ,
and has my vote for being the place outside the south coast of England for yacht
repair bits .
It seems that we have anchored off of the
nudist beach ! the girlies whilst swigging there beer yesterday evening seemed
rather keen to be looking at what can only be described as local wild life ,
tittering to themselves , Rob and myself also had a look only to discover that
it was of the male variety and rather sun burnt at that , we were hoping for the
female variety but it was just two blokes gingerly climbing naked over the rock
pools catching crabs, cant see what that does for them , the thought of slipping
and having my tackle ripped off in a crevasse doesn't appeal to me at all
!
Some sad news , just before we left Panama city a
young boy fell off the breakwater just up tide of our anchorage , he wasn't
recovered and when we passed by every day the parents and relatives would be on
the breakwater as the police and coastguard searched the area , not a good note
to leave on , but it reminds you about your life jackets !
Well folks its back to bottom
