NoNos Bay

Hi Folks,
This bay we anchored in yesterday has a double edge
to it , one is the flat calm anchorage, but the down side is the nipping NoNos ,
the local name for the little sandflys that inhabit these Islands , Ruth seems
to be a magnet for them and until now the rest of us have got off lightly until
that is last evening , I have a number of bights on my legs which I know I
shouldn't scratch ,but do ..this is despite the liberal use of mossy spray
.
It also started raining last night , and
hasn't stopped yet , we were planning to go ashore to the next bay but it will
probably be just a recci in the Z boat , as the thought of tramping through mud
and NoNos doesn't appeal to anybody ..
Looks like it will be our freshly made
ice cream and a movie this afternoon as it doesn't look like this down poor will
be stopping anytime soon, no offence to any Scots out there but it reminds me of
Scotland's west coast , Lock Long in the summer , midges included but slightly
warmer !
Tomorow we are going to move further up the
coast to Haaopu Bay , which is about 14 nm and hopfully away from this cloud
cover and rain !
A Damp , nibbled crew , but Happy
