Hi Folks,
Its been a day of trying to get our UK phones onto
the NZ network , no joy at all as the phones are all locked on UK networks, with
little chance of getting them unlocked here it looks like a few phones are
heading for the bin , what a waste , they are only a year old !
Progress on the chain galvanising front ,
there is a company who carry out the process only an hour away, its been all
eroded away with our coral anchoring , and sand spots .. this leads me to some
really interesting facts, they are as follows ;
Total distance travelled to New Zealand 13,702
nm
Day on the road = 489
Days spent in marinas or at mooring buoys =
175
Days at anchor = 192
Days of actual sea time = 122 this equates to
roughly 25% of total time
Anchorages visited = 40
Fuel used = 4058 litre
Water used = 19,560 litre
Consumables used to keep our nicks clean 163 toilet
rolls *****
Some of the crew here say that I wrote this on bog
paper but all these are out facts are out of my log books so it must be true, I
have the number of sailing hrs to work out yet but that a bit involved
.
Meanwhile Lyn has been looking at houses and land,
she will be on the same trail in Wellington no doubt !
I on the other hand went to Woolworth's supermarket
to do the shopping , our first visit to a NZ supermarket this time ,haven't
found the pack and save yet Gailie ...
Rob and Ruth have been scrubbing bilges and rope
washing whilst we have been swanking around , all change tomorrow as I'm in the
engine rm bilge ... and oil changing I think !
A jetty happy crew
