Hi Folks,
Still at anchor , the smog cleared ,Ruth aka
Smoggy was unhappy at this as it reminded her of home , Teeside and hence
her aka .
It turns out that they burn all of
Panama cities waste once a week in large landfill sites on the Pacific coast ,
its ok when the wind isn't blowing your way ! the locals say the smell takes a
few days to remove from there houses , it was bad enough here so what it must
have been like down town Colon in the narrow streets and compress living spaces
I cant imagine , probably like the old London smog's of the 50s except they
didn't burn plastics then just good old coal .
Ike , Ruth,Rob and myself went ashore on a
water gathering run , Ruth and Rob went to find the Banko first, they
taxied to the bank and walked back down the main drag of Colon , clutching
there deneros closely as no doubt gringos with denero equal good night out in
Panama city to the local populous.
Not much to report on the canal transit date , we
have the Admesure tomorrow so should find out more in the next few day
.
Sharon , Daniel is still tied up with the
senioritis and tequila so missed out again on a great chilli con cairn , we ate
his share again , He rang Lyn to say that tonight was the night so we await
his buns with anticipation ....
