Transit Merrygoround April fool !
Date 1st April 2008..
Hi Folks ,
Well it all go here , we arrived Sunday and spent
all day yesterday stripping out the auto pilot brain , changed it for the new
one in the box , it didn't work either , so now have removed all the steering
gear and taken out the drive motor ! No its not an April Fool ! !
To top all this we received a em from the canal
authority saying that they had not received payment , this was done on the 17th
of March signed and sealed so we thought but it turns out that there are about
fifty or so people who have paid by visa card and the visa system wont accept or
pay out to the City Bank of Panama , if you don't have em you wont find out till
you come to transit , no place no pay ! anyway Rob and I went to the bank to
find out what was going on , prior to this I called Visa who have no record of
any request for payment from City Bank ! after an hr there and an hr back from
Colon on the local buses which are a great ride , its very 1950s but a jolly
jape , outside the city its very relaxed and pleasant we had a great view of the
coast all the way down to Colon !
Back to Portobello to give Ike the news that
he is also going to have to ring the bank as his payments haven't gone through ,
we rang the bank back and they admitted that they have major credit card
problems , like nobody will send them money ! so we are left to sought it out ,
that's another day , tomorrows mission , plus try and sought out the pilot
motor and resolve the auto pilot brains as well ! !
At least Portobello is a calm and tranquil place
.
