Hi Folks,

Departed Hiva Oa  yesterday evening after exploring ashore , lots of mangos laying on the ground , ate as much as we carried ! no a lot else there except for a fresh water stream which as we discovered wasn't so fresh , it was stagnant at the upper reaches we guess that why there were lots of nonos ( small biting insects) chasing us , we were relived to get off the beach .

Lyn cooked a roast dinner for our long arduous journey ( an overnight sail of some 70nm ) we were hoping that the veg would give us a boost if the forecast was incorrect , SE 15 knots ...

Overnight sail to Ua Poa , not a lot of wind , less than 6 knts untill 4 am when we hoisted the sails , lasted till 8 o/c then we motored to the first location, didn't fancy it as there was a large swell running in the harbour so we pressed on to another anchorage on the lee of the island , we weren't disappointed huge basalt spears of rock coming straight out of the ground , it looked like a film set for Jurassic park and a wonderful back drop to our anchorage .

Yes you guessed it we are resting for the rest of the day , after extending the anchor chain ..

A overworked crew ! not !!
