Hi Folks,

Still haven't got the photos up of the continuing flat renovations but will soon, just a quick update, I'm playing letting agent at the moment , vetting prospective tenants, its quite a system here, they have it well organised as far as researching, its all held on a national data base which once you have joined allows access to all sorts of things, credit debt, tenancy records ect, its a much better sys than we experienced in the UK with no formal layout to the whole thing its a lesson the UK could learn on that front .
Another event is I have joined the coast guard, for the past two visits we have been out on an old Waverly class ex RNLI vessel, good sea boat but due to her age she is being retired and a new RIB type vessel is replacing her some time soon, the unit is based on the other side of Wellington , a place called Mana , it covers the North Island part of the Cook strait, you can see over to the South Island on a good day ! its a bit like the channel as far as weather goes and when those Southerly blow it straight up from Antarctica and out of the roaring forties, I haven't been out in a rough one yet but am looking forward to it !
The real buzz will be scooting over the bar to get out, she draws 1.2m and the bar at high water is at 1.5m , luckily we have Mana Island as a lee in a southerly blow but I imagine the swell must creep round in a big one .
As the weather warms so the short will be extracted from the draw, they have had two outings so far .. we are off up to the Bay to get the boat ready for the summer visitors on the 20th of November so it will be all the warm weather gear out as the temp is some 4 deg or more warmer there .

That's all for now folks, photos to follow .....
