Week three has started as week two ended.
Doing 6 -7 knots in a steady wind, but rolling an awful lot in the large
swells. Some of them must be around the four meter height, and when
sitting on the top of one, it looks a long way down into the trough of the
next. There is now less than a thousand miles left to run, so hopefully we
will be in by next weekend. Friday would be good as it's Ruth's birthday,
but then I wouldn't win the prise for guessing how many days we are going to
take. We are all getting a bit fed up with the continues rolling now and
are looking forward to a steady anchorage and a good nights sleep. Lyn
gave us all a moral booster of a meal last night, by making fish and
chips. The fish was some of the dorado that we caught made
in batter. All that was missing was the news paper wrapping.
Chris is in the galley today. Presently busy making bread. Lunch and
dinner are to be a surprise, apparently as much for him as for the rest of
us. However he has been studying the Jamie Oliver book. So far
for all his protestations of not being able to cook he has turned out some
fairly good grub. I have been given engineering duties today.
Charging batteries, making water, empting the grey tank, and checking the bilges
for any water. Ruth is busy devouring another book. I don't know
where she keeps finding them. If we don't get there soon she will be
forced to read the Panama book. By the way this is a good read, but it's
too practical and historical for her taste. She must be doing one a
day, as well as learning French. Lyn has her line out again today hoping
for the big one! Off to check the water makers progress. Showers all
round tonight.
Captain (Rob) Sensible.
