Hi Folks,
We all had group "Sextant" practice again today,
even with three GPS's on board you never know when the skill will be required,
plus getting the boat ready for the fore and aft anchoring we will have to do
when we reach Academy bay tomorrow , we should arrive before noon .
Master chef, Chris throw down the gauntlet
yesterday in the galley (no not literally), he really surpassed himself and
surprised us not a little by produced a remarkable Sunday roast dinner, aided by
his lovely assistant Lyn, who helped produce flapjacks for desert. Yum.
Yum. Lyn has taken up the challenge of "Zephyr supper chef", and was up at
the crack of dawn this morning making bacon sannies with fresh bread for
breakfast, hot dogs with onions for lunch, Ruth and I have high hopes of an
excellent meal this evening as we have spotted the tuna caught yesterday thawing
ready for Lyn's magic. Unfortunately I am 'mother' tomorrow so the
standards my slip a little, but as we should be safely in harbour I might
just nip out to the take-a-way, and hope no one notices. We are all
looking forward to having a small drink to celebrate our arrival tomorrow as we
have now been over a week without a dram! Ruth is busy practising her
Spanish, learning all the sort of words we may need to know for dealing with the
Ecuadorian mandarins. I think she should just give them one of her
winning smiles, it always works with me when she is after something. Will
let you know how we fair tomorrow.
